Instructions on rolling over your 401k into an iMetahurb IRA

  • Step 1

    Submit Funding Request

    Your first step is create an iMetahurb account. This will begin your application process. First, you will need to enter some basic personal information. Next, will be your contact information followed by the account type you would like to open.

    After you’ve selected your account type, you will need to select your funding method. Select Employer Plan Rollover and continue to fill out the application with all necessary information.

    Here, you will select your current plan administrator and account type from the drop down menus. Next, you will fill out the current total balance of your account. Then, you will indicate how much you wish to rollover into your new IRA.

    Once your application has been submitted, you will need to reach out to your current plan administrator to initiate the rollover to complete the process.

    Contact Your
    Current Plan Admin

    Check your email inbox for rollover instructions. You may also locate your rollover instructions within your iMetahurb account by locating the “My Account” tab and clicking on “Funding Instructions”.

    • Note:
      If you are initiating a Rollover of Pre-Tax funds into a ROTH IRA, you cannot use the in-app funding instructions and must use the funding instructions emailed to you. The emailed instructions will contain a specialized account number that will allow for expediting facilitation of the fund’s conversion.

     


     

    You will need to contact your current 401(k) administrator to proceed with the rollover request. The Funding Instructions will have all the necessary information for when you contact your current 401(k) administrator. You can find contact numbers for 401k plan administrators below.

    Rollovers will usually take anywhere from 5-10 business days. Keep in mind, most 401(k) administrators will provide a physical check, which slows down the funding process.

     

  • Step 3

    Follow Up

    We will email you when your money has been received and your new IRA account is funded.

    If you have not received an email confirmation from iMetahurb that your account has been funded, you should contact your old 401k administrator to confirm your funds have been sent.
