Qualified Distribution

A qualified distribution refers to the withdrawal of funds from specific retirement accounts, including IRAs and 401(k) plans, that meet certain criteria.

A qualified distribution is one that occurs after attaining the age of 59.5, total disability or for a first time home purchase up to $10,000. For Roth IRAs, the account must also be held for a minimum of five years.
